In 1954 the Vladimir Lenin Steelworks was opened and in less than 20 years the factory became the biggest steel mill in Poland. The plant has invested in modern technology and features state of the art equipment for research and knowledge, but now the production of steel has moved elsewhere and the residual spaces are vast.

Super Nowa is a transformation strategy for Nowa Huta. Based on location, landscape and abundant infrastructure we propose a development process that shifts from steel production to steel refining and recycling.

Eight projects will be implemented to encompass a city of circular cluster. Each circle grows out of site-specific conditions (landscape, infrastructure, ecology and economy) to become a dense and highly efficient element in a larger sustainable vision.
