Our proposal takes on the classical Cerdá city block with its unmistakable diagonals; it organizes 4 new building-sites around a public inner court, while balancing the volumes on each plot to deliver equal exploitation capacity. This layout sponsors the engagement of different architects and aims at typological and formal variation, enhancing the characteristic “Barcelona look” in terms of street facades.

The public court, a rarity among typical built-up privatized spaces, stablishes pedestrian shortcuts between the park, the market and the diagonal street. Volumes in tower configuration for the upper floors allow for natural light maximization and more corner apartments with multiple city views.
