The new design for Forumtorget is part of a larger urban regeneration scheme in central Uppsala, which is a grid of streets and alleys. This small square is surrounded by buildings that have impressions from many different times. In this context we believe it is important to consider the whole alley as part of the project, to propose a clear and strong design relating to the existing cityscape.

We propose a dynamic surface design that expresses Forumtorget as a central point of density in the grid. A supernova of dots exploding from the center point outwards to both sides of the alley. This intervention is simple, elegant and flexible for hosting many of the frequent events the space is used for.
